Your Fundraising Toolkit

All Special Named Funds use the CCLG registered charity number.

As a member of the Fundraising Regulator, we have provided the following information to help ensure your fundraising is safe and legal and in line with our guidelines, as well as provide resources to maximise your fundraising.

Making sure your fundraising is legal

Registered charity number

When fundraising in aid of CCLG you must ensure the fundraising logo and registered charity number are displayed.

If you are waiting to receive some of the below resources, you can simply create your own sign using Microsoft Word (to display at your event) with the following line:

"Registered charity in England and Wales (1182637) and Scotland (SC049948)."

We welcome fundraising in the British Isles although aren't required to register for an additional charity number.

Collections

There are legal restrictions in collecting money in public places. Check out the Special Named Fund code of conduct is make sure that your fundraising is legal.

Labels

All fundraising buckets and collection pots should be labelled appropriately. These labels display the charity logo and registered charity number.

Fundraising buckets should be sealed with cable ties at all times. Collection pots should have unbroken security seals which can be provided by us.

If you would like custom labels showing your SNF's logo, please email specialnamedfunds@cclg.org.uk (production time 4-6 weeks).

Raffles

Raffles are a great way to raise money, but they fall under the remit of gambling law so it is important to make sure your raffle complies with charity law.

Please read our raffle information page to find out whether you need our permission to hold the raffle you are planning.

Design guidelines

Brand

You may choose to create your own posters, leaflets, event banners and social media posts to promote their amazing fundraising activities.

Please ensure you read our Special Named Funds design guidelines so that your fundraising is representing the charity to the best of its ability.

Challenges

Challenge events

You can apply to take part in any of our guaranteed place challenge events, such as the London Landmarks Half Marathon, Great North Run or Royal Parks Half marathon.

We simply charge your fund the cost of the place, allowing your supporters to raise as much as possible for your Special Named Fund.

Unfortunately we aren't able to give out places in the London Marathon, but we have lots of other challenges your supporters can take on, in aid of your fund.

Virtual events

We organise four virtual fundraising events a year, and we'd love your supporters to take these on in aid of your Special Named Fund! Keep an eye out on the Facebook group and in the e-news letter on how your supporters can sign up to these.
